Immerse yourself in a world of self-discovery. The foundation of this Journey is preparing you to share your love and desire for Yoga with your family, community, and the world. Sharing your passion for Yoga through teaching privately or in group settings will enhance your life and the lives of others. This one year program is one weekend per month for six months of book work, and instruction followed four to six months of self-study and exploration under a mentor, which allows you time to absorb, assimilate, and bring insights from the training into your daily life between sessions. The program includes a full year mentorship and full use of the studio and support of the YAL community. You will be steeped and stewed in the “Art of Yoga” when you graduate, with a full year of experience and ready to share your unique style with the world.
The central teaching of Yoga is that man’s true nature is divine, perfect, and infinite. There are many schools of Yoga and one common thread, Yoga leads you from the Unreal to the Real, from the Darkness to the Light. The “Art of Yoga” offers a unique understanding of the history and philosophy of Yoga. You will learn the principles of Bhakti (loving devotion), Karma (unselfish giving), and Raja (path of knowledge) Yoga. We will also immerse ourselves in the physical applications of Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Wall, Kundalini, Yin, Restorative, Chair, Senior, Iyengar, Yoga Nidra, and Ayurveda. You will learn what each has to offer physically, mentally, and spiritually. As well as develop an individual teaching style and creativity out of this vast base of knowledge.
True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied – Aadil Palkhivala
